Ray is an instantly relatable and highly motivated individual with a wealth of diverse life experiences to draw from. With over 22 years of front-line service in the NZ Police, including the rank of Sergeant, and two Queens Commendations for bravery, Ray's impressive background is a testament to his drive and dedication.
Ray's insight allows him to ask the difficult questions when needed, resulting in a thorough fact-finding process and needs analysis to assess his clients' personal and/or business situations. He is skilled in advising clients on ways of spreading the risk across multiple areas, specifically protecting their lifestyle, family & businesses.
Married to Rhonda and with three adult children, Ray shares his home with three pets: a ragdoll named Toast, a Maine coon named Emmy, and a German Shepherd named Nino.
When Ray isn't working, you can find him at the golf driving range or at the table tennis stadium. He knows the importance of relaxation and taking time for oneself, and it's something he encourages his clients to prioritise as well.

Meet Rhonda, one of the founding partners of Essential Financial Solutions! As the General Manager, Rhonda is the glue that holds it all together, providing crucial support to our amazing team of office staff and Insurance & KiwiSaver Advisors.
Married to Ray, with three adult children, Rhonda shares her home with three pets: a ragdoll named Toast, a Maine coon named Emmy, and a German Shepherd named Nino.
When she's not at work, Rhonda loves to travel and collect new experiences. She also enjoys spending time hanging with her Grandbabies, gardening, reading, and going for a morning walk in the fresh air.

Introducing Racquel - our friendly, curly-haired redhead! Formerly a Professional Track Cyclist representing New Zealand at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, Racquel joined our family Insurance business after retiring from sport in 2020.
The daughter of Ray & Rhonda, she has grown up immersed in the Insurance industry and has always understood the importance of the right coverage. But since welcoming her own daughter in August 2025, she feels it on a whole new level. Protecting your family, business, and life goals from the curveballs life throws your way isn't just her job - it's something she lives and breathes.
KiwiSaver is a space Racquel is truly passionate about. She loves that small, simple changes can make an enormous difference to what you retire with or how soon you can step onto the property ladder.
