Wills & estate planning, sorted, simply.

Most New Zealanders know they need a will. Most don't have one.

If you have a partner, children, property, or any assets you care about, a will is one of the most important things you can put in place, and it doesn't have to be complicated or expensive to get it done.

How EFS can help you get this sorted.

EFS is not a law firm; we don't write wills ourselves. What we do is make it easy for you to get the right help, whether that's a straightforward online will or a more complex arrangement that needs a solicitor. We've built relationships with trusted providers across the spectrum, and we'll point you in the right direction based on your situation.

One thing that often gets overlooked alongside a will is an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPoA). This legal document appoints someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you're ever unable to do so, due to illness, injury, or accident. Without an EPoA in place, your family may need to go through a court process to get that authority, which can be slow, costly, and stressful at an already difficult time. It's worth sorting at the same time as your will.

SimpleWills

Online wills; quick, affordable, straightforward

SimpleWills is an online platform that makes setting up a basic will fast and affordable. It's a good fit for people with straightforward circumstances who want to get something in place without a lot of back-and-forth.

EFS clients get access through our referral at a cost of $149+GST per Will.

Footprint Wills

Guided wills; discounted referral for EFS clients

Footprint offers a more guided wills process with additional support. EFS clients receive a discounted referral rate. A good option if you want a bit more hand-holding through the process than a purely online tool provides.

Starting from $85 per Will

Trusted solicitors; for more complex needs

Referred based on your situation and personality

For more complex estate planning needs; blended families, business interests, trusts, or significant assets, a solicitor is the right call. We work with a number of trusted legal professionals and refer clients based on their specific needs and, frankly, who we think they'll work well with. Not everyone clicks with the same adviser or lawyer, and that matters.

Not sure which option is right for you? Just ask. A quick conversation with an EFS adviser is enough to point you in the right direction, no commitment required.
